For Sale: 1964 Pontiac GTO in Gordon, Texas for sale in Gordon, TX
Vehicle Description 1964 Pontiac GTO 421 Royal Bobcat ---This car is equipped with a 421 cubic inch 425 horsepower with tri-power carburetors (three two-barrel ROCHESTER 2G carburetors), and heavy-duty cooling.
It has a 3 speed Turbo 400 slap shift transmission with a 12-bolt rear end.
The car is in near perfect condition and is the fastest 1964 GTO I have ever ridden in and I have owned several 1964 GTOs.
It has up-graded suspension, no rattles, smooth steering and riding, new interior and carpet.
It does not have the original radio but has a cassette playerradio with an up-graded automatic antenna.
It is equipped with new Red Line tires with American mags and the original hub caps are in the trunk.
There are many other up-grades, too numerous to mention.
Excellent paint.
What is a Royal Bobcat? Throughout the 1960s, Ace Wilson's Pontiac, a Pontiac dealer in Royal Oak, Michigan, offered a special tune-up package for Pontiac GTOs which included replacing the 389 cubic inch with a 421 cubic inch engine.
They looked so much alike that people couldn't tell the difference.
The components and instructions could be purchased by mail, as well as installed by the dealer.
Many of the Pontiacs made available for magazine testing were equipped with the Bobcat kit.
